Number one: Avoid certain foods. Foods that stain teeth yellow have heavy coloring in them either naturally or artificially. Examples are mustard, turmeric, blueberries, blackberries, and purple grape juice. Also, reduce coffee, tea, and red wine. These three may also stain your teeth. However, since many of these teeth-staining foods are healthy and provide numerous health benefits, then you can compromise by making sure that you brush your teeth thoroughly after eating or drinking them.
Number two: Rinse with hydrogen peroxide solution. Mix 2/3 water with 1/3 3-percent hydrogen peroxide. Rinse your mouth daily with this solution, which works by removing or preventing teeth stains and keeping your mouth germ-free.
Number three: Try a natural cure. Rub some burnt almond shell powder lightly on your front teeth twice a day or rub bay leaf on your teeth thrice a week. Also, you can put some raw common salt on your toothpaste before brushing. The fine grains of the salt will remove and reduce yellow stains and bring a white shine back to your teeth.
Number four: Use baking soda. Mix baking soda with water, and then brush your teeth using this solution thoroughly. Make sure that you have thoroughly gone over every area of your teeth including the top, bottom, and all sides. For best results, ask your dentist which areas need special attention, and use a sonic or electric toothbrush for brushing. Number five. Quit smoking. Smoking is not only dangerous to your health. Nicotine causes brown stains that penetrate the groves and pits of tooth enamel, and can be hard to remove by brushing alone. For this reason, it is best to quit smoking and prevent all the dangers this vice can bring you.
