Voltage Reducer

Do we need a voltage reducer?
I have an EZ-GO 36v (battery configuration 6). I want to connect a 12v accessory, and they told me that need a reduction, if I had configuration 48v and I need one for my 36v golf cart? Thank you
If all batteries are connected in series, you simply connect the power cables to the battery terminals first positive terminal and negative terminal the second battery. Otherwise have a voltage reducer. You can test the configuration of two batteries with a voltage tester (recommended) or just get a light bulb 12 volt electric lights behind the car. If the bulb is too dark or burned immediately did something wrong. Accessories that are installation, if rated for a maximum use 12 volts, it will burn too early if the voltage is too high. If you do not understand electricity, why not talk to an electrician or a professional installation work with you?
