Vauxhall Astra VXR

This week I took the test Vauxhall Astra VXR and was asked if I was the kind of person would buy this type of car - a source powerhouse of a hatchback. "Well I am?" I thought, so here's my resume. I do not profess to be many things but I like to think I'm a nice guy who is hard working, law-abiding, loving music, religion and sports car nuts. I also like to announce myself as something of a film expert fall and enjoy conversation with like-minded people the Spanish language film I saw last night, or what really happened in The Matrix. Until this week but there has been a hole in my film repertoire to make sure that my cinematic ramblings were denounced quicker than Usain Bolt running the 100m - I'd never The Usual Suspects seen.

After being harvested with more stars in reviews than the night sky above me, seemed strange that I never had time to see it. The content seemed up my street too, with the film is billed at the time of the release as "Reservoir Dogs 1995 ', so a lot of weapons, violence, swearing and death then - not Toy Story in other words. So I finally settled 13 years later anticipated and the report is that if I had any influence as a film critic there would be another maximum five stars migrate to Bryan Singer's masterpiece.

The premise is not easy but involves five criminals who were brought by police in unusual circumstances and being blamed for a truck hijacking in which (with all probability) did not commit. While biding their time before release, the police decide to take revenge while making a tidy profit doing so. In the Throughout the film a mystical master criminal called Keyser Soze is mentioned and via a series of flashbacks and narration from one of the five suspects the story unfolds, culminating in a bloody end on board a container ship and a touch so implausible that it contorts your brain into believing that it is possible - Who is Keyser Soze? The beauty of storytelling is that they know to be a twist, but can not specify how or who will be involved.

What was a similar scenario I found myself in while driving, the Astra VXR. It is clear that the shootings and kidnappings are not part of Vauxhall lifestyle but in many respects, Astra VXR is part of the automotive equivalent of the usual suspects. The world of the hot hatchback has always been comprised of familiar faces who have been slugging out for many years. The current crop includes the five main suspects: Vauxhall Astra VXR, Honda Civic Type R, Ford Focus ST, Volkswagen Golf GTi and the Renault Megane Sport.

It is a formidable lineup worthy of the silver screen, but I've had the keys to the Astra, let me throw some facts and figures at you - starting with the style. Aggressive does not begin to do justice Astra - Vauxhall motto even advertising the "GTi - RIP 'had an air of hooligan on the matter. Large alloy wheels adorn the gaps in the wide body kit and low hanging, with a roof-mounted spoiler and mesh front grille complete the look. It is a bold statement which gives the impression the car travels at high speed even when parked on the sidewalk.

When the engine turbo-charged 2.0 liter makes him happy is awakened driving at speeds it is in their appearance. Developing 240bhp, the Astra VXR covers the 0-60mph dash in 6.2 seconds, a simple but more importantly for a front wheel drive car, do not develop noticeable torque steer, thanks to more processing power than a chain of computer stores. Vauxhall Astra chassis tuning on the legendary Nurburgring racetrack Germany and it shows. Despite the twisty roads and sheep that kept darting in front of me, the Astra avoid becoming an abattoir on wheels thanks to responsive handling aggressive front and scaring them off.

My only concern is that to develop 43bhp more than the Volkswagen Golf GTi and Honda Civic Type R, Vauxhall has screwed into a turbo with all the will in the world means one thing - the lag. I often found myself in the position beyond all that power just to have a seat, make a cup of tea and then decide to go to work. There were also occasions when having the car zoom past the engine inside of me wanted to have another brew before stopping the flow power. That said 43bhp is a heck of an advantage over rivals so it's worth waiting for.

The Astra VXR is also priced to be cheaper than the Golf Mégane and the Focus ST and comparable with the Civic Type R despite this extra grunt and sublime handling. So I'm the type of person to buy a Vauxhall Astra VXR? For unless there is a massive shift in this story, the answer is "Yes, please."
