How do you cover text in a PDF with a solid white box?
I've been trying to cover text in a PDF with white solid boxes to hide info I don't want shown. I can't find any instructions that makes sense
Don't try to cover the text in a PDF file, the text can easily be discovered if you are trying to block it out. Any user looking for hidden text, cut and paste or even the touch up text tools can and will look at what is under the box. Instead Acrobat incorporated the "redaction" feature in Acrobat 8 and better. The redaction feature will permanently and properly eliminate the text completely, covering the area of the text with words of your choice such as "redacted" or "removed by author". Read the help file on redaction the first time you do it and it will walk you through the process. The article here http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9588_22-148216.html illustrates why using blocks or lines to block out a pdf don't work.
