Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr is the CA home of Birchfield Harriers. The club has been in existence since 1879 and now enjoys considerable success, the current members of the team include high level athletes as Denise Lewis, Kelly Southerton and Glen Smith. Team include alumina, Ainsley Bennett, Derek Redmond and Geoff Capes. Their stadium, the Alexander is one of the places in Athletics first class in the country, hosting national and international competitions and championships.
The basketball club in the city than is the Birmingham Bullets, who plays their games at Chelmsley Wood. This is one of the clubs with one franchise to play at the highest level in basketball British - the British Basketball League.
