In general, the stories are left unresolved the effect do you think of possible endings. The human mind in general want something settled and fight until it happens. Leaving outstanding history reinforces that the author has to say. For example, in "The Game more dangerous," it does not say what makes Rainsford in the final. Overall, This makes the reader wonder what they would do in a situation of Rainsford, causing Further reflection on history.
