Porth Dinllaen: an Idyll virgin waiting to be discovered
A natural harbor, which was pretty incredible now, once an item of vital center for the Irish vessels of Commerce, and in 1804, more than seven hundred were anchored there. The shelter provided by the carrier € ™ s natural harbor, however, offered protection against the enormous force of the north wind, and all the ships were driven ashore and wrecked. Robert Rees, a local man, tied a rope around your waist, with the help of four other men, managed to save the lives of twenty-eight sailors from the vessels concerned. Following the tragedy, the Rev. Owen Lloyd Bodu Williams, wrote to the RNLI reporting on the results of recent storms, and called for a lifeboat station to be established Dinllaen in Porth. RNLI inspector of lifeboats, visited the area the following February and recommended the formation of a lifeboat station, which was formally approved at a management meeting in March 1864. The first boathouse was built at a cost of £ 140 and this was quickly followed by the arrival of the lifeboats first, the 36-foot, 12 oars, Sheppard cotton in August. It costs only 250 pounds, held without charge from London to Caernarfon by rail, and then sailed Dinllaen Porth.

Porth Dinllaen has been protected by the National Trust since 1994 and now, a total of sixteen houses, the Ty Coch Inn, and the RNLI station in the care of the Foundation.

One option is to remain much cheaper near Morfa Nefyn, where there is a reasonably priced option of self-catering, B & B establishments, and a small hotel. One of accommodation options more economical to rent a house through Nefyn holiday, local party rental agency. Theyâ € ™ ve been going for over 30 years and have become firm favorites with the large number of families vacationing in the area every year.
A visit Dinllaen take Porth B4417 road to Morfa Nefyn and follow the signs to the National Trust car park (just off Golf Road). From here there are steps to Morfa beach where Nefyn can walk on the sands of Porth Dinllaen. It is also possible to park in Car Park golf club and walk through the course itself. For those with the luxury of a vehicle four-wheel traction may be possible during low tide to drive on the wet sand, passing behind some old warehouse buildings on the road, but given the number of aspiring road that stick, perhaps this is a better option to avoid!
