can ping a network computer but cannot brows files on that computer?
I an running xp. there is 5 computers on the network 4 of them can brows each others files but the 5 th can only be pinged by ip or computer name. When using using file explorer I get the massege (you might not have permission to use this network resource) the drive is shared, all computers logon using the same name. can you help?
Try running network wizard again on that computer (set up a home or small office network) make sure to have the right work group name. If you're in the domain then you need to join the domain and the admin has to add you as users and give right permission. Seems like your in the work group anyway, so just run the wizard again.
