How do I make a mod for Diablo 2 LOD?

The game is gettin old Comin AWIL 3 is not out yet I want to spice up my experience Usein game for mods. but I can not get the i find them at work, so I was thinking about makeing my own. Does anyone know how many A Mod. or point atleast me in the right direction to where I can get one that works. Thank you.
