Excessive perspiration?
My younger sister (16) has always been a ray of sunshine. She has always been outgoing and athletic, the opposite of me. About a year ago, I noticed that her confidence and self-esteem has gone down. She is no longer active and outgoing. She avoids large groups of people and wouldn't dream of dating. I thought it was normal, you know its her teen years so I wanted to talk to her about it and see if I could help.
She later revealed to me that her confidence has indeed decreased but its not because of her teen years, its because she started sweating under her arms a lot. She took off her jacket and showed me. She had a huge puddle under her arm almost to her breast area. She said she is self-conscious about it so it makes her draw back. I bought her some Certain-Dri, some other product that starts with a D, some larger shirts that don't hug her underarms, all of these went with no results. The doctor says she has doesn't have hyperhidrosis. What can I do to help?
all you can do is encourage her to participate in activities and have fun. do fun things with her.
there are deodorants that are available by prescription that will stop her from sweating, however they do discolor the armpits of t-shirts.
sweating too much is a common problem. my boyfriend and I both have the same issue.
just go with her to do things that will get her out of the house.
