papertowels are the best. They are cheap and easy to change, but are not always so great, if you configure the shell for display. Journal is another option, but the ink is transferred to the snake if it gets wet. Please contact your local newspaper, most will from virgin paper roll end. The green carpet starts to smell after a few months of use, no matter how much you clean. The reptibark or mulch as has been known to carry mites, so they risk their snake.
