Golf Betting - Tiger Woods to be punished by critics - Golf Odds
Tiger Woods is set to be fined by the PGA Tour his public criticism of an official of the rules on Sunday.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the tour does not know the fines.
Woods won his seventh title of the Bridgestone Invitational after Harrington posted a triple bogey eight on the hole during the final round of Golf Betting at Firestone Country Club.
Woods was bothered after his four-shot victory on Sunday because he and Padraig Harrington put on the clock on the par-5 16. Harrington said that attack caused three tough shots, leading to triple bogey.
European Tour chief referee John Paramor, Woods and Harrington said they were being timed.
Woods said Harrington said after it was finished, "I'm sorry that John was put in the midst of a great battle. "
Speaking to Sports golf.com an official Woods PGA anonymous confirmed that it would face a fine for his comments.
The manual for the PGA Tour player says: "It is obligatory for members refrain from comments to media that unreasonably attack or disparage the tournaments, sponsors, other members, players from the PGA Tour. "
Harrington admitted he was moved, but said it would be unfair to give preferential treatment last group.
Section VI-D in the manual PGA player Tour said: "It is an obligation of members to refrain from comments to media that unreasonably attack or disparage tournaments, sponsors, other members, players, or the PGA Tour. "
