Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club: The Secret Treasure Ireland
Playing golf can be a very relaxing activity and more people have been hooked in the game and have seen it as a form of therapy, an exercise and a means for self-discipline. Proudly the last golf course designer legend Ireland Golf Eddie Hackett designed, the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club built a links course as needed about 250,000 tons of sand. Sadly, however, Eddie Hackett never saw the end of the building as he died before he could be terminated. A new designer was hired to supervise construction. The designs change the things he did as a result of bad reviews when the course opened in 1998. The owners had to remodel and redesign the course under the tutelage of a famous American designer, Ron Kirby.
By 2003, the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club was leased by Universal Golf Consulting Ltd. and took over in the development of the course and make it more playable and the construction of a new clubhouse. This led to the success of the club to attract more members and visitors. With the developments made, the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club is recognized by the Irish PGA as one of the five tournaments fixtures in the calendar of professional tournaments.
The concept of the course was to provide a place where professional and experienced golfers enjoyed a challenging round of golf, but played by beginners and novices as well. The course must also be able to host championship matches of the tournament as well. The Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club has managed to do and this is founded by the tens of people come every year and the number of tournaments held there.
Inserted by stunning views of Kenmare Bay and below it Reeks mountains and Caha MacGillycuddy rises above it, the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club has a course that can soothe the soul more problems.
Apart from the course, the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club also boasts world-class amenities and facilities such as a newly decorated club all inclusive a practice driving range and a fully stocked pro house where you can find all your golfing needs and souvenirs.
