Most people only see the Aberdare Country Club, because output is the basis for the Ark, a night game viewing lodge. The minivan throws up its international cargo, carrying cameras before lunch. After lunch the dark green buses ark launch the game for the Aberdare forest. The crowd again next morning looking tired and disheveled that herded back into minivans and to the next stop.
For those who have spent time however, Aberdare Country Club can be a very quiet and relaxing game. The main house, a stone building with romantic red tile roof was built in 1937 by the Lyon family in England. They called the "safe house" because of its position on the side of the hill overlooking expansive views in all directions.
Lyon were part of the valley known set happy. Apparently, some pretty wild parties were launched in the step during World War 11-hard to imagine in the profligacy and non-formal, British home with their mullioned windows, dark wood paneling and heavy draperies. Today the windows are larger, but the lounge and bar are still dark brown carpeting, leather sofas and large stone fireplaces, remember, if an old British club.
The beauty of the place is best enjoyed sitting at the tables scattered on the lawn shaded the front of the house, from here you can see forever over the grass banks that extend down the Mt enticing children to run or roll. Vivid bougainvillea illuminates the scene and the pool is partly visible through the bushes in bloom. The bar is open next Karuru sides overlooking the pool two tennis courts in a day clear you can see Mount Kenya. There are nine holes of golf host-quite steep and often families of baboons.
Guests are accommodated in gray stone houses most of which are nestled among the beautiful gardens of the hill behind the main building. They have tall stacks of tiles pitched roofs and large picture windows areas Private outdoor sitting. There is a sense of peace and privacy, and the fireplace is welcome on the many nights cool and misty in the highlands.
The dining room occupies most of the main house. There meters dark wood paneling and large windows offer lovely views. Lunch and breakfast buffets are self safari. Children under 12 are encouraged to eat early. adult room is lit by a candle a set of menus. Special arrangements such as barbecues and banquets dining shrub can make safari group conferences.
Beyond the stables is a game sanctuary where guests can stroll or ride the horses of the club. You can go on game drives at night in the sanctuary.
There is accommodation for about 100 rooms, either in the original nursery wing or in the cabins. Nursery Wing is a separate building with five rooms. The cabins each containing two bedrooms. Each room has a fireplace and bathroom. If you are connecting rooms You can book the whole house.
