The story of Crazy Golf
When a holiday in any coastal station over Britain will have miniature golf courses where you can spend some time have some fun. The children not only find the obstacles in these challenging courses, but they enjoy watching their parents in difficulties. But do you know where this sport come from? The following is a brief look at the history of golf crazy.
The first course of this kind was opened in St. Andrews, Scotland, and that is where the real game of golf is believed to have begun. Here is an 18 hole course was developed in 1867 made up of short putt, so that women can play this game if they were interested. So allowing them to participate in a sport where, due to the violence of the tilting movements of the golf club was not something that women should be doing.
However, it was several decades before the types of golf courses were now available to be seen. The courses built through this time until early 1900 were much more similar in design to real golf. The real difference is that cover much less space and in most cases to play a one course requires only a putter to do so.
Then in the 1920s changed the game and all because of a golf fanatic named Thomas McCulloch Fairbairn. He developed a new type of material that the green of the golf courses were made in 1922. mixed with oil, stain, sand and cottonseed hulls were much greens easier and cheaper to produce. So this was a game that people of all walks to participate in.
U.S. Only All 1920 tens of thousands of golf courses under construction and only find in New York had built 150 courses over the roofs of some buildings. But with economic depression taking hold in the 1930s, the game started to take a back seat as people simply do not have the money to play and was at this time a large part of the courses were closed or demolished.
But once the economy had started to improve when it comes to golf history and things began to change as well. Two brothers from Binghamton, New York, Robert Joseph and Taylor began to build and operate golf courses again. However, such a large difference with those that had been built previously as more obstacles are being introduced. Instead of trying to get the ball into the hole when placed on banks, turns and rolls of a necessary get past obstacles such as pipes, castles, wells and windmills they want.
