Flex Fit

A century ago, even before the Wright brothers made their first flight, tens of other engineers tried to make a powered and controlled the aircraft. Many of its aircraft have been weird, funny or just so extraordinary that it could not fly even in theory. Other were similar to Wright Flyer I, 'with fixed wings. Once the "Flyer 1" made by the good start in the aviation, everyone follows the concept. Until then, millions of fixed wing aircraft took place in the world.
With the increase of population Aviation Ultralight discovered that the fixed wings bring a bit of weight and cost issues and began looking for alternatives. The aircraft wing flexible easily won the linkig many engineers and pilots. Why? ...
--- Flex Wing Aircraft Advantages ---
- It takes up less space. The flexible wing aircraft often have "delta bars" which are shorter than the wings of the aircraft wing fixed.
- Their wings can be removed. Usually the delta bar can be removed more easily than the wings of an airplane ordinary. With a little manipulation, they can be stored in a garage
- They are light. Aircraft Wing are generally considered flexible as tricycles or ultralight, ultra-light - is clear enough why.
- They are less expensive. A flexible wing can cost 1 / 2 price of a similar class fixed wing aircraft. It's a big advantage.
- More easy to take off and land. Due to its delta in the short and Bar Building more gently flex wings can start a stolen car up and of the earth everywhere.
- Easy to fly. The ultralight trikes usually have simpler control system and does not require skill drivers high.
But you still see many fixed wing aircraft closer to Right? This is not just a habit. They have their own advantages very high:
Benefits --- --- Fixed wing aircraft
- They are faster. The flexible wing aircraft only are not as aerodynamic, so it can not compete with fixed wings at high speed.
- They are safer. In general, Fixed wing aircraft are considered safer than tricyclic antidepressants. They are also less piable wind.
- Detached atmosphere. Most fixed wing aircraft have cabins. It can fly, even if it's cold or raining. In the tricycle they are exposed to the atmosphere and can take the cold if nothing else.
- It's a real aircraft. 'S Face you can not seriously consider a trolley ultralight. The planes have fixed wings and everything else is just microlight toy. (Is this a serious argument?;)
Both types of ultralights, they also have their drawbacks. Need considered too in buying a aircraft.
--- Flex Wing Aircraft Disadvantages ---
- More risky. Because there is less regulation for them the risk of buying insecurity is greater.
- Sure. It is an advantage, but could be a problem. A lighter aircraft is piable strong winds.
- You may need clothes and special equipment. Flying May require outdoor clothing warmer and glasses. That's not so bad, eh?
--- Disadvantages of fixed-wing ---
- Expensive. It has been said previously. Even the simplest fixed wing aircraft costs more than a microlight trike.
- The need hangar. You can not place it in your garage, if not great. You must pay for hangaring.
- Need a fugitive. Gliders are still too large to fit on the road. They need a fugitive and that means airport fees.
Aircraft - More difficult to steal. Most have fixed a mastery that has to do. In most cases pilot license is required.
As you can see the two main categories of aircraft ultralight their positives and negatives. They are used for different purposes and not replace the other. Not the kind neither better nor worse, only one that suits you best.
