Located in Harris and Chambers counties about 25 miles east of Houston in Southeast Texas, Baytown has a population of 66,000 inhabitants and is the fourth largest city in the Houston metropolitan area.
Baytown is an industrial city with chemical plants, refineries petroleum, plastics and rubber plants the main industries. The main employers are Exxon Chemical, ExxonMobil, Bayer, Amoco, Chevron and Phillips.
Located Galveston Bay, Baytown is a major destination of water with boating fishing and salt water is the preferred activity. Other points of interest are: The Center JD Walker Community, San Jacinto Battleground, the Historical Museum Baytown, Texas, Republic Plaza and the Battleship TEXAS. The beaches of Galveston Island is a popular destination for golfers young and old and have the Evergreen Point Golf Course to enjoy their sport. Bayland Park Marina has a boat launch with fishing pier and is a destination popular for fishing and boating.
Transportation is available from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport and air transport service Metro is the center of Houston.
