How can I make my PowerPoint presentation really stand out?
I already know the basics, but if anyone has some cool ideas (custom animation) please bring them my way. I don't have the recent version of powerpoint, but the 2002-3 one.
I agree with the MBA guy (although the "stupid" phrase was unnecessary). PowerPoint presentations are not made to be completely animated to the audience as there is probably a speaker during the presentation.
In my professional presentations I would use some random slide transitions to add character to each slide. Place a relevant picture on each slide that tells a story about the information on there. I also animated the picture and title to come in simultaneously and then had the information come from the first line to the last line to clearly state the point the speaker would be saying on that slide. I would make the animation for the data different from slide-to-slide, but in uniform (i.e. have the data bullet points "fly in from the right" on the next slide of them "appear", etc). The title and picture animation should be set up to come in "after previous slide" and the data should come in "on click".
In the end when you view your presentation, i think you will notice how professional it looks with the animation and how your speaker will be able to emphasize certain points as he/she "clicks" to have the different bullet points "appear" or "fly" onto the screen as the audience focuses on that point only.
