Wilson Blue Ridge Golf Club Set-checkers?
I am looking at purchasing a set that I think is about 40 years. I am a beginning golfer and I was wondering whether it would be good enough for me? I heard that with the old style of the clubs have to hit the ball more accurately to get a good shot. Should I worry about this and get a newer version of the clubs? [The is I'm looking at is $ 40] (I often hit the top of the ball). Any advice would be helpful.
Much has changed in golf, even in the last 15-20 years. The courses have received more and harder, while the balls and clubs have been enhanced to be easier to hit and go further. I honestly think it would be best to get the latest equipment. Senior clubs can be much more difficult to use, and as a beginner I think you should try to make things as easy as possible. Wilson is still a decent brand and currently has Several sets of drafts and the brands that can work for you. Wilson Hope is one of the teams (a percentage of each sale goes to breast cancer research as an added advantage). Even if you just bought a complete beginner package for $ 100 or less, I think you do better than using older (albeit cheaper) clubs. Good luck!
