The stagnant stock market today with the Senate testimony of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Geithner Secretary-Treasurer, as investors looked for clues positive economic and efficiency incentives and plans for the bank.
Not until the day we arrived large with a large volume that we want to give us high probability the bottom to start buying shares in long positions, but we know in the next couple of days, if we get that. Meanwhile, if the market does not give us a crucial foundation actions could start climbing slowly instead of bouncing sharply as Bungie cord overloaded.
Most banks lost ground and still we saw the note BAC and WFC do a decent rebound if new fall first. Watch these two as the first to recover.
REPEAT: Banking shares continued their decline as expected with the WFC, Wells Fargo fell another 10.4%, BAC below 8.1%, via USB 8.4% JPM C down7.4% and 2% (not in the position C). Two of the six actions of the banks were short sales that were covered on today, WFC and BAC. The remaining four have lower left with JPM and KEY seems that tomorrow is the right day to cover.
The oil was 2% at present.
Intermediate Trade Positions: New ideas: Most banks lost ground and still we saw the note BAC and WFC do a decent rebound if further down in the first place. Look at these two as the first to recover. Consider buying small positions gradually longer and more conservative investor, you could wait until you start to move before buy.
General Electric, General Electric, is poised for a rebound even though this population that normally do not move much. Buy in small gradual increases would be smart.
OEX, S & P 100 is close to being a purchase, which is a good index to trade in options. The difference is more closely with increased volume which gives greater liquidity. Make sure the expiration month is at least several months away.
Swing Trades: New Ideas: HUM, Humana Health worth a small long position and the University of New Hampshire, United Health Group.
Day traders / intraday stock ideas: Excellent intraday trading today and probably will continue tomorrow. FSLR First Solar, up what the fall is likely to be shallow, with more pop. Continue to watch ICE, BLK, CME, POT, MON, MOS, AMZN, AAPL, FSLR, Bidu, USB, WFC, JPM, and any high volume, high volatility stocks.
Notes: The market still wants to react to positive news, to find excuses to buy and speculate about a bullfight.
Still waiting any substantial rally in the stock market this year driven mainly by the massive stimulus that has been poured into the system, plus the planned stimulus package now being proposed. Longer term, however, in a couple of years down the road, no doubt, the taxpayer will have to pay for such quantities debt that the U.S. government (and others) have assumed. So tax rates will probably increase in coming years, rates of interest that is likely to increase the areas of inflation and is likely to resume the bear market at some point down the road. But it need not be trapped in miserable cycle as most investors. With technical and market focus, we can still progress.
If you have been shorted stocks uncomfortable, that most people learn to get used to it, this will be a useful tool in the coming years.
