A digital photo shoot footage of aircraft in an air show
A few weeks ago I went with my friends to see an air show. The schedule was full of acrobatics and many types of aircraft. The highlight of the show was the blue angles with their jets doing dangerous routines. I took my camera hoping to capture some good digital memories of that program.
I took my digital SLR camera for the air show. I put in my bag special camera with an extra battery and lenses. He used eight megapixel digital SLR with a 100-300mm zoon lens.
I decided to shoot as many photos that I have known from experience that the rule in these cases, of large numbers works well shoot as many photos as you can and you might be able to find some pictures that are truly unique. So when the planes started flying around I pointed my camera at them and from that moment I saw most of the air show through the viewfinder of my camera.
I set my camera to continuous autofocus. I had my finger holding the shutter button half way most of the time while I'm moving the camera to catch fast flying aircraft. You could hear the engine working hard on the camera movement the optical components of the lens back and forth to keep the right approach. Also, put the camera in burst mode, so when I decided that the composition penalty shot a picture that really triggered a rapid sequence of four photos. The idea behind this was the first to get more photos to choose from with aircraft flying at high speed these four photos were very different from each other and second to maybe be able to capture some movement in a sequence of photos.
As time tired hands to hold the camera steady and my grip was not as stable more. Unfortunately I did not bring a tripod, and I probably would not have used, even if I did, because it is difficult to track aircraft flying over one especially when you are thousands of people walking around. When I looked at the photos that night I saw the results of my hands tired of digital photos later were not as sharp and steady as the old.
When I saw the results of my work, my reaction was to go for fancy glasses with a built-in image stabilizer in them. There are two types of image stabilizer that moves the sensor and really uses gyroscopes in order to move a floating optical element that compensates for shaking. The latter is more expensive and offers better results. I saw some people walking around with Canon's image stabilization zoom I'm not sure how effective it was for them but it sure looked impressive.
There are drawbacks to using image stabilizers and indeed some of these problems are very important to my program of aerial photography shoot. Moving the camera erratically for track an aerobatic plane can confuse the image stabilizer that can detect the movement and tremors that are unwanted and therefore try to compensate. If I had an image stabilizer that has had to use different practices to shoot my photos and try to move the camera on one axis and in a more or less constant speed.
Overall I was able to choose some great pictures of airplanes flying acrobatics without very close to each other, aircraft with some birds flying in what appears to be in the picture as close to digital photos and other aircraft in different situations. These will serve as good memories that are the air and a lesson for better air conditions in my next photo shoot digital Display.
