Scirocco Volkswagen Golf Energy Form

HISTORY

Golf coupes were by no means a new idea when this title = "sell my volkswagen "> VW Scirocco was launched in 2008. The first car will be named Scirocco (Sirocco derived from the Italian for wind, if you're interested) was launched in 1974 and around mechanical mk1 Golf. It was replaced in 1982 by a very new Scirocco mk2 who share the same platform. The Scirocco marks did not disappear Volkswagen range until 1988, when it came on the platform Corrado Golf mk2 to replace it, but when that car production ceased in 1996, so did the dynasty booming car that combines the basic elements of golf coupe bodywork.

Although the Golf GTI models were on hand to satisfy customers Volkswagen looking for something sporty, never have been the cars with the power to transform the pedestrian with a last gasp fools of a surface. Volkswagen was no real Head-Turner for over a decade before the much-awaited revival of the Scirocco in 2008.

The sports seats are not restricted only to the front - the contoured rear seats integrated headrest function to give much support. The proportions of this car are typically short, low and wide, although the dimensions of betraying their trust in mechanics Golf. The vehicle measures 4256 mm long, 1404 mm tall and 1810 mm wide.

WHAT YOU PAY

The demand for the Scirocco was strong from the front and residual values have remained strong with little initially used cars changing hands for more than the price list. The cheapest way in is to look for a 160bhp 1.4-liter TSI model in a 58-plate. You'll pay around £ 18,500 for one of these cars, while a 140bhp 2.0-liter diesel in the same plate will be £ 500 more. The 2.0-liter TSI was the first Scirocco at the scene and they still command £ 20,000 for a 08-plate car which was £ 20,700 when new. The gearbox DSG works a treat and comes at a premium of £ 1,200 while GT trim is worth another £ 1,000 more.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

We would also like know for cars that have been hit by too enthusiastic owners and ensure that the service has been treated with care. Otherwise, the Scirocco has a strong reputation reliability. If the car has been equipped with the optional DSG gearbox paddle-shift, check that all relationships to participate without problems and clean, especially behind. The 1.4 liter TSI 160bhp unit in any case, it is even more vibrant with a time of 8s 0-60mph and 42mpg making it a decent substitute for the full range of Topper.
